Chocolate Addict!

Hey guys! This is a last minute post as I have just found out that today is World Chocolate Day! I was going to post this recipe later this week but hey, things change! I’m sure most of you loooove chocolate. I, myself am a chocolate fanatic! I just can’t get enough!

Back in my non-vegan days, I used to consume a lot more ‘traditional’ chocolate bars which means a lot more processed sugar and saturated fats. But now I’m committed to a healthier lifestyle. In the beginning it was scary because I thought I would have to give up all the familiar flavors that I love but then I realized that there are soooo many vegan products out there that taste just as good, if not better. But also, I also realized that everything can be veganized! Back to today’s subject! It has been stated that 7 July 2017 marks 467 years since chocolate was introduced to Europe! For most of us, chocolate is our go-to dessert and while I do enjoy other desserts, chocolate is the only thing that truly satisfies my sweet tooth!

Today we are celebrating World chocolate day, vegan style! With a delicious yet healthy, refined sugar free creamy vegan chocolate mousse!

 

Refined Sugar Free Creamy Vegan Chocolate Mousse

So in this recipe I have used a refined sugar free chocolate bar. Raw Halo is a particularly good one for our cause. Nevertheless, as I will explain later, you don’t need to use one at all if you don’t have one or if you don’t want to add any more calories to your chocolate dessert. 

Refined Sugar Free Creamy Vegan Chocolate Mousse is the perfect dessert for all you chocolate fans out there as it’s super easy to make, the recipe does not require many ingredients (only 5 ingredients!!), there is no baking involved and it just tastes marvelous! It’s creamy, it’s filling, it’s indulging and satisfying! All in all, just a great vegan dessert that is as nutritious as it is delicious!

I know you are all dying to get the recipe so let’s just cut to the chase and honor World Chocolate Day, the vegan way!

Ingredients (4 servings):

Method:

  • Melt the vegan chocolate bain marie style with 1/3 cup of coconut milk.
  • To a food processor add chopped up avocado, banana, cacao powder and the rest of the milk and blend until silky smooth.
  • Before removing the mixture from the processor, add the melted chocolate and blend for a few seconds. You can omit this step if you choose not to add the melted chocolate. Your mousse would still taste chocolaty but the taste and texture would not be as rich.
  • Place the mixture in your selected serving bowls and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

That’s it guys! As simple as that! Our refined sugar free creamy vegan chocolate mousse is ready for consumption! Decorate with bananas, nuts, berries, pretty much anything you like! Happy World Chocolate day!
