A Shift Towards Towards A More Natural Lifestyle

Going vegan was a huge stepping stone towards a more natural lifestyle. It’s fair to say that at the beginning of my vegan journey, I did not care about my own health, or knew anything about the environmental aspect of this lifestyle. But as you dive into it deeper and deeper, you are exposed to so much information that you just can’t ignore.

Within a matter of months, I educated myself on how to live a healthier life that included natural remedies, exercise and a more natural diet away from packaged food. I also learned about the environmental implications of my actions and how important it is to minimize my environmental footprint.

I went into a mode of thinking about what products I use on the daily, where they came from, what ingredients they contained and how they were packaged. That is when I realized that cruelty free doesn’t necessarily mean natural. While my diet was on the right track, there were still things I could change to retain a healthy body and mind and reduce the amount of waste that I create. This is where beauty products come in.

While I am a very low maintenance person, I still use a number of beauty products that allow me to feel my best. Most of the products on the market are flooded with harmful chemicals and are wrapped in plastic. And while there is a variety of beauty products that only contain natural ingredients, they usually come with a steep price tag!

DIY natural beauty products are very cheap and easy to make and are better for your body as well as the environment. But before going into our 5 natural beauty hacks, here is a list of toxic ingredients to avoid at all costs if you still decide to go with commercial products.

Avoid:
