Guacamole is one of the most popular dips in the world! And of course, it’s main ingredient is avocado! Avocados are extremely popular among vegans as they are very nutritious! They are a great source of fiber and protein! Let’s take a look at 8 interesting facts about avocados that you might not know!

2. Avocados have the highest protein content of any fruit
200 g of avocado provides more than 8% of your daily protein needs. Who ever said that vegans don’t get enough protein? Bring on the weights!
3. They have double the potassium and fiber of bananas
100 g of avocado contains 485 mg of potassium (13% of your daily requirements) and 7 g of dietary fiber (that accounts for almost 30% of your daily needs).
Potassium helps you maintain normal blood pressure and strong kidney health.
Dietary fiber helps maintain bowel health, lowers cholesterol levels, helps control blood sugar levels and aids in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.

To quickly ripen an avocado, use bananas! Ripe bananas release a lot of ethylene, the hormone that triggers ripening in mature fruit. Putting hard avocados in a bag with bananas makes them ripen faster!
