Deliciously Creamy Green Hummus
I usually fall victim to my own routine, sticking to the same old dishes. After all, they are tried and tested and they work! But every so often, I have the urge of spicing things up a bit! This is how I came up with the green hummus recipe!
I make a huge batch of hummus every week and just keep it in the fridge to have as a side to meals or as a midday snack. This week I wanted to make it extra special! Give it a bit of a twist! And boy, oh boy what a delicious twist that came out to be!
Enhanced texture, taste and nutrition! This is a recipe you want to make ASAP!
The secret ingredient? Peas! Yup, you got that right. Peas! As simple as that!
Ingredients (6-8 servings):
- 250g boiled chickpeas
- 150g boiled peas
- 4 tablespoons tahini
- juice from two freshly squeezed lemons
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup water
- salt to taste
- a bit of paprika or curry powder
- Soak chickpeas overnight. Boil and drain them before use. Alternatively, use canned chickpeas.
- Boil and drain peas.
- Add all the ingredients to a food processor and pulse until you get a creamy texture.
Green Hummus Dream
Voila! Green hummus dream! Simple, delicious and nutritious! What more can you ask for? Have it with some pitta bread or just chop up some veggies and dip them right in there! Yum!
